Meanwhile, carbon dioxide carried by the blood moves in the opposite direction. In other words, it passes from the blood capillaries into the alveoli.

Afterward, this gas leaves the body during exhalation. Therefore, the bronchial tree plays a crucial role in transporting air within the respiratory system.
