The bronchial branch represents the network of airways that form part of the pulmonary system. First, this structure begins with the trachea, which is the main tube through which air enters the lungs. In addition, its function is to distribute air throughout the lung regions.

The trachea descends from the larynx and then divides into two main bronchi. One bronchus leads to the right lung and the other to the left lung. In this way, air is distributed to both lungs.

Next, each main bronchus branches into secondary bronchi, which enter the different lobes of the lungs. Afterward, these bronchi continue dividing into smaller passages.

Later, the bronchioles are formed, which are the smallest airways inside the lungs. Therefore, bronchioles allow air to reach all lung areas.

Finally, bronchioles carry air to the pulmonary alveoli, which are small air sacs. In these sacs, gas exchange occurs between air and blood.

During this process, oxygen moves from the alveoli into the blood capillaries. Meanwhile, carbon dioxide moves from the blood into the alveoli.

Afterward, carbon dioxide leaves the body during exhalation. For this reason, the bronchial branch plays an essential role in transporting air.

Furthermore, the branching structure of the bronchial branches increases the distribution surface of air in the lungs. As a result, the respiratory system functions efficiently.
