On the other hand, the milk produced in the alveoli travels through the lactiferous ducts. These ducts function as channels that carry milk toward the nipple. Afterwards, the milk can be released during breastfeeding.

Likewise, adipose tissue forms an important component of the mammary gland. This fatty tissue influences the size and shape of the breasts. Moreover, it helps protect the internal glandular structures.

In addition to glandular and fatty tissues, the breast also contains a network of blood vessels. This vascular system supplies oxygen and nutrients to breast cells. Furthermore, it helps remove metabolic waste from the tissue.

Moreover, the structure of the mammary gland may change during different stages of life. For example, during puberty, breast tissue begins to develop. Similarly, during pregnancy and breastfeeding, mammary gland activity increases.
