Object visualization is the result of the coordinated function of the structures of the visual system. In a healthy eye, normal vision allows clear perception of images, recognition of colors, and detection of fine details. In addition, this process involves several ocular structures working together.

First, light reflected from objects enters the eye through the cornea, a transparent structure located at the front of the eyeball. The cornea allows light to pass into the eye and performs the initial focusing of incoming light. Afterward, light passes through the pupil, which is the opening located in the center of the iris. The iris regulates the amount of light entering the eye.

Next, the light travels through the lens, a flexible structure located behind the iris. The lens adjusts its shape to focus the image correctly onto the retina. This process, known as accommodation, allows the eye to focus on objects at different distances.

Once the image is focused, light reaches the retina, which is located at the back of the eye. The retina contains photoreceptor cells known as rods and cones, which convert light energy into electrical signals. Furthermore, cones allow color perception and fine detail recognition, while rods support vision in low-light conditions.

Afterward, these electrical signals are transmitted to the brain through the optic nerve. This nerve connects the eye to the central nervous system and carries visual information.

Finally, the signals reach the brain, where they are processed and interpreted. As a result, the brain reconstructs the image of the observed object, allowing recognition of its shape, size, and color.

Therefore, object visualization depends on the proper functioning of all structures of the visual system. Consequently, when these structures work correctly, the eye can perceive clear and detailed images, enabling a complete and healthy visual experience.
